Not meaning to be a spoon by asking, I just don't see where things are heading, although I love the Space Wolf link as always ;)

Ha! That was great! I used to love AirWolf as a kid. And Blue Thunder. :)

I know it is probably pie in the sky stuff, but I would love to see music packs for ED. While ED's orchestral musical score is decent, I will always prefer electronica for my space games. I think Eve Online has the all time best music when it comes to a space game.

Hmm. As an experiment, I think I will try playing ED with the EO stuff playing in the background. Bet it works well.

The capital ship battle music and Thargoid battle music are some of the best I've heard in gaming- I didn't think I'd ever find anything to rival Kingdom Hearts' orchastral masterpieces. But I can't FOR THE LIFE OF ME find Elite's music ANYWHERE!!!

No available soundtrack, no videos online, not so much as a fan-made playlist. Fdev, I would PAY to have access to this music, where can I find it???? D:

And here. Most songs are very nice. The battle songs are kind of repetitive imo. The OST is actually over 2 hours long so the video has an extended version.

It's not combat music but nothing gets me in the mood to fly spaceships more.

Combat, especially hazrez and CZ combat, is usually this if I'm not listening to other music:

The game needs way more music variety, tbh. What's there is good, though. Just needs way more, and way more variety.

As-is I typically just listen to tunes on Spotifiy or YouTube.

I simply do not know how it could ever be enough, given the game demands weeks to months of playtime from any serious player. The music will always get repetitive, and asking for continual variety would need an army of composers each producing an entirely lifetimes worth of music each to get close to filling that gap.

Spotify and its competitors etc, are really the only long term answer.

Now what would be good is if the game had an API to share with services such as Spotify to say what type of mood music is required (combat, tension, relaxation, exploring, curiosity etc) - and then service such as spotify could either pick tracks that fit, or select from your own playlist collection what fits...
