Combat rank still not gone above competent? anyone got the numbers on what is needed?

Alright, so I'm wondering why my combat rank hasn't gone up from competent, and I think it is kinda odd, since its been that way since before I got my viper, and now progressed to vulture with what I consider a lot of kills and such under my belt.

Does wing kills affect/slow down progression towards combat rank or something?
Since right now I have:

Bounties Claimed: 894 cr
Profit from bounties: 15.119.595 cr
Combat bonds: 36 cr
Profit from combat bonds: 418.000 cr
Assassinations: 0 cr
Profit from assassinations: 2.286.312 cr
Highest single reward: 193.465 cr

So yeah, wondering what is going on here, and the only thing I can think of is that wings somehow affect rank progression?

It's not a hard number of kills. The rank of the target affects the speed you progress. Regardless, you've not killed enough anyway. I got master after 1000 kills. Probably about 1.2k.

I can't remember exactly but it's different for everyone due to the nature of random targets.

Wings has no effect

I think the combat ranking should not be linked to how many kills you can amass but increasing difficulty combat trials, them use No of kills for something else.

I dont know whether the ship you are flying also factors in. I fly a sidewinder and my kills to go up rank seems to be a lot less than other people - not sure if that is due to what I am targeting or if my ship factors in. Generally the scale seems to be double what you had when you previously ranked up.

Try a warzone. It might not give you as much money, but there will be more and higher rated opponents.

I have over 2600 bountied kills and am at Master rank.

Like distance said, you need kills above your ranking to progress faster

I disagree, I don't believe the targets being wanted or not has any bearing at all on your rank.

It doesn't. Any kill contributes.

I sometimes go to anarchy systems, and just murder a few NPCs

I'm ranked expert at about 500-600 kills, mostly done in an eagle. Most were done at nav beacons, probably half in anarchy. I don't pay much attention to ranks but do tend to go for the larger targets if given the chance. I don't know if it matters, but I use fixed/unguided weapons almost exclusively.

Pretty much the same here - 450 bounties.

Although in a Cobra then Vulture.

Respect for sticking with the Eagle!
