Combat rewards should be shared with wingmates.

It was a sad day when FDev decided that only the shooters that hit the target share the rewards of combat.
Let's take a Thargoid hunt as an example. Wing of four. One Thargoid Interceptor and a swarm.
Cmdr A takes care of the swarm and uses healing beams and decontamination limpets to maintain the wing's general health.
Cmdrs B, C and D fight the Thargoid Interceptor.
Cmdr B is the decoy that keeps the Interceptor interested while C & D do the damage to the hearts.

As you can see. Cmdrs C & D will each get 2Million Credits whilst CMdrs A & B will get nothing despite putting in the same amount of effort.

With Delivery or run & fetch missions even the guy acting as escort shares the rewards. Why not in wing combat. Any wing combat. Not just missions. Even the guy that works to concentrate the target's cohorts on their ship deserves to be rewarded.

Hmm. On one hand i see it as a minor thing. Make sure that everybody just fires a few shots at the Interceptor and you should be fine. On the other hand, basically you are right. The reward should be there for everybody.

At the moment it's along the lines of "everybody who contributed", but unfortunately the game currently is unable to detect any other contribution than damage. So the perfect solution would be to determine any way of contributing. But that list can get very long and some things may be very hard to detect. Presence during the fight, on the other hand, would be easy enough to detect. (Theoretically somebody who contributed throughout the fight, but had to retreat and leave the instance a few seconds before the kill to avoid ship destruction should also be rewarded. But that's an edge case, where i guess the coding effort would again outweight the benefit. )

I totally disagree.
A commander doesn't generally invite other commanders to join his wing for no reason at all. It's not for FDev or anybody else to judge that reason so long as it fits with game mechanics.
As far as I know even when this used to nbe implemented anybody leaving the instance failed to be rewarded. Even so I still say that anybody in the wing, should be rewarded.
To paraphrase an old wartime saying
"They also serve who only fly and act as bait"
Just because they seemed to do nothing doesn't mean they served no purpose.
