Combat Zones: know other players' side!

I enter a combat zone and before picking a side I have no idea at all which side/faction are supporting the CMDRs I see.
Can we have any help with this? Can the faction picked stick together with the ship info in the target panel? Please

Totally agree; when you target them it should show their faction alliance just like the NPCs.

The only way I've figured it out right now is to fly around watching what ships they are shooting or are shooting at them. Sucks because you have to waste time getting in close to them and watching a couple fights to figure it out.
