Combine odyssey into base game and do full epic/prime/steam giveaways(not f2p)

According to me ED is between NMS and Star citizen and i believe ED has a good potential after odyssey update and will have good parts of the other 2 games but currently the other two games have large population compared to ED. By giving away full game content till now (not making it f2p), a good population boost will happen just like when horizon was given away, this will not only increase population for mmo content but also can give us more future content like explorable earth like planets, base building or hiring npc crew like star citizen to gather resources around.
If the devs really wants to make the game success for future(less population will eventually shut a good game down) they need to make people play it(just like nms did--release continuous free updates till the game is what it is now.) This can only happen when devs see game getting popularity thus hinting that they should focus on it more and give it much more interesting features like those in nms or star citizen and this will happen when people gets to experience full game( including odyssey).
Thus best option is full game giveaways on epic/prime/steam and give 2-3 major core mechanics updates like explorable earth like planets, base building or hiring npc crew like star citizen to automate gathering resources around for free.

usually (not always) the epic store giveaways are when there is a DLC to buy (which isnt given away) or if there is a sequel on the horizon.
Yes there are exceptions and in those cases i suspect Epic dig really deep to get them as a freebie............ but to give away ALL the paid content of the game sounds like a really bad idea long term to me - unless like i said, Epic were prepared to sugar daddy it.

and if the latter is what you want then you are asking the wrong people, its Epic you need to persuade. i am totally guessing but i suspect if Epic approached FD and said "here have £1million to let us give away Elite Ody for a week ............. i suspect FD would say yes!.

say what now?
He’s referring to Star Citizen’s dreams.txt

Something that will be developed “in the future”. Which is 90% of Star Citizen’s content: “in the future” (read: never going to happen).

13 years of perpetual Alpha, but just two more years guys! Tech that will revolutionise gaming! Never been done before! 🤪

not necessarily.... hriing npc crew to help fly the larger ships was also part of the plan for Elite........ complete with ability to train them in different areas, or fire and replace them, as well as have to worry about their allegiances and temperaments to make sure they do not double cross you.

I don't understand the OP. All I am getting is: Bundle up everything made so far into one, give it away, but don't make it free to play (?), and this will make the game a success.

I think I am missing something here.

I meant like what no man sky did giving free updates and now the game is one of the best space game and good population, so now if they sell dlc, people will heavily go for it, but ED was just a ship game then came odyssey making it a step closer to star citizen(a star citizen lite game which is complete not messy alpha). And now i will slightly prefer ed over nms if few more changes were made, and i would love to see it grow but few problems:-
1) Too much grind(plz add: hire npc to gather resources to reduce some grind).
2) low population for a mmo (even SC has good population and nms has a great one even when not a true mmo), and decreasing population often leads to devs focusing on other games or rushed buggy content(not gonna say name), if they give either core gameplay updates as free till game has atleast borderline good features of SC (honestly many players like me will love to see that) and charges for content afterwards, it will be good.
3) Making it f2p is a loss and bad for game but doing giveaway of full game content + few more core gameplay updates like explorable earth like planets(more on foot missions and maybe city/big interactable colonies) few times will attract more players by word of mouth and trust(like nms). Good population for a mmo means devs will be more active so if game gets better then in future, it will not only have good less grindy gameplay loop and more multiplayer content but also it can compete with SC(as this is a alpha messy and highly priced game and ED is a released game). Also, it will sell more for the company like nms.

Note: For doing giveaway EGS doesnt need to sugar daddy it, Frontier itself is capable and its not necessarily a bad move as when horizon give away was done there was good hike in population and maybe in their revenue also and thats why i posted in suggestion here.
Plz correct me i can be wrong.
