I thought I would post updates of my blog in here, as it much more appropriate. I did wonder at first whether I should have joined the "Distant Worlds" Excursion, but I wasn't really ready at that point, to head and join you all.
My latest post, as per the title of this thread, which was inspired by Wordsworth, covers the last week after reaching a mini milestone of just over 10k Ly travelled. I often wonder if I will come across any more planets which are different than the ones I have already taken pictures of and uploaded to my blog. However, it would seem that again, I should not have needed to worry. I am still finding jewels which leaves me with a jaw dropping "Ooooh" or "Ahhhhh" or "Whoooah".
Although I tend to take reference shots more than anything else, I cant seem to get the right position to make it artistically perfect as others seem to have the knack for, I hope they still have a similar effect on others, as well as myself. My blog also makes some observations as to what I have discovered, such as really thick atmospheres, and binary planets with barycentric orbits and similar or very dissimilar surfaces.
One of the things I really appreciate about ED is the sense of scale. The attached image demonstrates what I mean, as the moon is really dwarfed by the gas giant, and one could even be forgiven by thinking that it had been taken by Hubble.
So, I will update this thread as time progresses and hope that if you take the time to visit, you enjoy my very tiny contribution to the world of explorers in ED.
