Newcomer / Intro Come to Lave....How?

I started in the ever popular LBS 3447 area. Lave is only 130 some odd LYs away. I've tried plotting a course that way but I get a big finger from the NAV Map. I had a jump range of 18LYs. How much more do I need?

Still having fun. I just got my viper. This time I did the smart thing. I tested my weapons BEFORE I got into a fight. Lot less undesirable exploding that way.

Plot the route in a couple of stages. The Galaxy map route will only do 100Ly max and can take ages to calculate that, so do it in 3 sets of plotting by picking systems along the way and plotting the route to them.

You probably need to explore more systems in that general direction. The Galaxy Map doesn't include every system that there is. So start jumping towards it, and along the way you'll probably find a star pop up that you can use as a waypoint. BTW, take a fuel scoop for the trip; there's not always a gas station in some of the less-travelled areas. And remember you can't scoop from every type of star (orange = good, white = iffy.)

Fuel scoops are my friend. Never leave home without one. On my first start I ran out of fuel. Never again.

Also give the galactic map time to plot all the possible courses you can take. A lot of the more distant systems are redded out when you first load it up, and the spider's web of routes you can take only goes so far, but the longer you leave it the further they will get... however as mentioned, it will never reach Lave as there is a 100Ly limit. That doesn't mean you can't get there, it just means your galactic map doesn't reach that far. Head in the general direction of Lave for 30Ly and then try the map again.
