comets?

Ok so I managed to sell my data after the patch (cheers FD)
I was happy to see lots of those first discovered screens, I read the first couple.
It was one of these that told me I was getting a bonus for a comet. I took a screenshot but for some reason it didn't capture the first discovered screen so I have no proof.

Has anyone else noticed comets or noticed being paid for them?

I will point out that at no point do I remember scanning a comet :)

I just noticed the same thing.
I got about 3 or 4 'first discovered' notifications for comets. However I cannot view any of those systems. If i try to open the systems view it just shows the loading icon for ages.
Have you tried to look at any of the systems you found with comets?

I took that screenshot thinking I wouldn't need to note the system. The screenshot didn't have the discovery page for some reason so I don't know which system it was :(

Wait, there are comets now? Maybe you picked them up with the scanner ping and they didn't show up on the navigation tab to select and scan them. I've certainly never seen one though, and figured we'd notice when they were in, since comets are extremely common in every system. Maybe you found something you weren't meant to find yet.

I'm happy I'm not going crazy (well no more than usual)

I think there more chance of me finding something that's not meant to be live yet than there was me missing something in system (only cos I tend to scan everything in a system). I remember my bonus was 0 too.

check the first finders list that fd gave us there's some there to!
went to try and find one but there was nothing there:(
I read somewhere that the graphics for comets haven't been implemented yet

Comets have "been in the game" for a long time...they just don't have a graphical representation yet, nor gameplay implemented around how these will be mined.

So currently they are invisible for all intents and purposes, but explorers are still getting credit for finding them since they have obviously scanned the system in question.

...I want to find Hale Bopp...so that I may worship it. The fact that it is invisible in game proves its inhabitants are gods mohahahaha... ...
