So many pain points here, I'm having a bit of pain even listing. Help me out here community:
I understand the reasoning behind the comfort meter. I get it. I get the thought behind it, I get why it's an important thing to cater to especially in a Jurassic World game.
I've played a considerable amount, and I have to say, I am utterly, utterly tired of the mechanic on any of the Hadrosaurs that require pop, any of the small armored herbivores, and any of the armored back herbivores like the stegos. They feel like petulant children, that will literally go insane at any second instantly if they don't have the EXACT number of the social group required.
They have no ability to:
- find their own group again
- define their own territory
- stick together in some sense
- take it out aggressively in PROXIMITY. Be it OTHER dinos, a fence it's very close, a structure etc, perhaps, ONLY if it has an attack gene modification high enough.
- if lost, lose health instead of run from miles away to fence, as if suddenly some intelligent being that always knew the fence was there, and that it HAS to ONLY attack fences if it's low comfort. It's utterly dumb and predictable, and quite frankly tiring.
- most of the Hadrosaurs need improvement. Edmontosaurus is fine.
- the group small carnivores like Deinony-
- every small armored herbivore
- almost all of the ankylo types
- all of the stego types
It's too much especially when you can't herd them into a group yourself.
More Reasoning:
It's awful. They instantly run from miles away to any fence like magnets and go bonkers. And you try to make this nice big exhibit, with 6 stegos just to be safe, 8 paras, couple of diplodicus.... nope... they never stick together, and the moment they get separated, their meter goes down and its over. It's not even natural. Why don't they try atleast to find the group? Why does it run to the fence like a magnet unnaturally, instead of reacting in its own vicinity DEPENDING on its traits. If it has high attack genes modified, then sure! start initiating fights with other dinos! If it HAPPENS to wander by a fence, sure attack it! Is the fence electrocuted? Hit it a few times, then back off.
I can't even begin to list every annoying dino here with tight social group / pop restrictions. It's awful to even begin to think of making enclosures for them with other dinos, with variety. I can cater to EVERY need except this utterly ridiculously made one.
I get it, but its just not well implemented. Fix this .
