I dont know if my post fits here but my proposition is comic book and cartoon from elite dangerous world.
Story behind these should include GalNet news and players activity in game but should be much more than that, it should show living elite frontier world with ordinary characters in it, and how players actions affect theirs lives.
You can look at star wars clone wars cartoon as a reference point of how it should look like not story, here story should include not only HEROES, and rulers but also simple people , or simple pilots who live in this world and have problrms (or are lucky) coz of players acions. This story will write itself.
You can sell acces for 3 $ a month and if you will have 30.000 subscriptions that should not only cover the cost but generate income as well. Looking introduction of elite to Xbox one this will be additional avd. tool and xbox players are potential buyers as well.
I dont see how this can not profit to guys in FD.

edit: players who have impact on elite world will appear in comic book/cartoon, they should have something to say how their character look like, and so on...
