Newcomer / Intro Coming back from a long time off, new player experience is just getting one shot now?

So I haven't played in quite some time and I elected to start over as part of that, since I wanted to get a feel for what it's like from a fresh point. Apparently these ARX-bought ships they've introduced drop in the same system as people starting with the initial sidewinder, and the average interaction with those is getting ganked before you even have time to deploy hardpoints. I can jump to Solo, sure, I could even jump into a Private or two that I was invited to before I took a break, but was this really the experience FDev wants new players to have? "You bought the game, now pay us more or don't bother playing with anyone else"?

Sorry friend I also play only open mode but there was a starter zone when I started. Try taking the Apex shuttle to a nearby star system and if they shoot down your apex down just try again. Just look at the station information and go somewhere with a shipyard. Then the shipyard can order your ship in and you launch from there. I say

Be sure to sass them on the chat too. I think their deity might wear an inferior pallor or something.

Maybe someone closer can provide cover or try the galactic academy discord maybe. Good luck enjoy the return

No, they don't - but as any other ship, they can.

That's not limited to the prebuilt ships. Actually, those prebuilt ships would be pretty bad at it.

If "playing with anyone else" is limited to shooting at other players - sure, you'll need to acquire the necessary tools and capabilities. On the other hand, I've been doing civvy evac missions from thargoid attacked ports the last couple of nights (also returning after a break, but I left my carrier idling and just jumped back into my old CMDRs). Plenty of open rectangles and triangles around, none of them shooting at me.

Sealclubbers happen in most online games - there are menu options to report & block bad commandos. Don't listen to the guy saying to talk to them - no point - that's what they want - to make you annoyed & get you to post on the internet. Oops.

Block & move on. And never go to Deciat ;)
