Hey, welcome back!
If you're asking about Elite: you barely missed anything in 6 months, and 9 months even. Two small updates in April and September, and another scheduled for Jan. 14. Stuff tangentially related to exploration: supercruise assist module (autopilot in SC), small ships gained two new class 1 slots, medium and large gained one, and... well, that's it. January update might change how the surface scan for geo / bio signals works, or it might not, we don't know yet.
Oh, I suppose there's that you buy cosmetics for virtual points called "Arx" now, not directly with money - and you can get a small amount of free Arx just by playing. For exploration, you gain a pittance of it by exploring, but when you sell your data, you'll very quickly hit your weekly cap. (Can't earn more than 400 Arx in a week.)
And yeah, that's all. Fleet carriers were shown to have some use for exploration but got delayed again, and Frontier is entirely silent on the icy world revamp now. The plan now is FCs for Q2 2020, so likely summer, with Frontier then announcing what the next expansion and New Era(TM) that's coming at the end of the year will be. Until the update in summer, no new content (not even IIs nor CGs), just bugfixes.
On the player front though, there have been some cool new tools in the meantime, such as
Elite Observatory and
VisitedStarsCache.space. And, not surprisingly, new maps on EDAstro

There's also
this too. More of a curiosity, really.
