Coming in from 3+ Years in the Black... A few questions...

Hi folks,

I’ve been doing the Bubble-Colonia-Sag A-Bubble trip for several years now. Work gets in the way sometimes and an ASP with 31Lyr range gets boring after a few days (I really, REALLY hate the FSS changes!!!!!)

So, anyway, any major concerns that I need to be aware of (apart from remembering how to dock)? I’m coming in ’Solo’ as that’s how I’ve been playing if that helps...

About the same advice as before you left. Two primary things...

1. No cargo, not even limpets. If nothing for an NPC to take as a reward the more likely if you are forced out of hyperspace they will look, cuss, and move on.
2. First station you can find, dock. Even if you don't sell your data you might be able to gear up before trying to go deeper into the bubble to your home.

Good luck,, commander! Kudos on the long journey.

Nothing much that Rooster Podunk didn't say. Also, depending on how much data you have, you might be looking at spending quite some time selling it all. Make some tea!

If you don't have a favourite NPC faction (and well, after years out, you likely don't), anywhere will do.
The only thing that changes with where you sell at is that the minor faction which owns the station you docked at will get a boost in influence, for a time. You'll also gain reputation with them. Both will cap out quite quick compared to the data you have though.
You could also unlock a few system permits this way, if you don't mind running around between several stations... if you don't already have them, that is.

Advice on first arrival point? #Offerringanythingtothefirstbidder 🤣

Sure: first inhabited system you can find.

Looking at your route map, I think you could even sell your data at one of the remote bases, before you get back to the bubble. There's an asteroid base at the Lagoon nebula (Lagoon Sector FW-W d1-122), for example. You can check EDAstro's interactive galaxy map to see where they are, check the "POI Markers" box.

That's a good point... As long as you don't get blown up during ranking up. Still, you get thrice as many credits for your data if you pull it off. You do need a substantial investment in Cr (something like 250 million?) to get there though.

It's 100k for every 10 units, and you need 1000 units to hit rank 5; so it's 100 million. It's only worth doing if you have a very large amount to cash in. I turned 2b into 6b of data.

Or you can wait the 30 minutes each time for the 10 units allocation to recycle, but you'll be waiting ages.
