ANNOUNCEMENT Commander Names

For people in the beta and alpha there is now the facility to register the name of your commander, here's how:

1. Login at: https://support.orerve.net/
2. Navigate to the ‘COMMANDER PROFILE’ tab
3. Enter your desired new commander name in the ‘Request a New Name’ field and press the ‘Request Name Change’ button.
4. If this is approved it will update the commander name at the top of the page.
5. If it is automatically denied a red message will appear above the field, stating the reason for the rejection.
6. If it is manually denied the player will receive an email telling them that their name has been rejected, once the batch update is complete.

That is, if we switch away from our reserved name, no-one else will be able to use it? And we can switch back later?

No, if you change your name you lose that name.

If you already have an in-game Commander name and wish to keep it, this is of no use to you. You only need this if ...

* You wish tho register a name because up until now you have been Cmdr 56789 (for example)

* You wish to change your current Cmdr name

Uh....as a PB backer I thought I don't have any credits yet? And I haven't flown any combat scenarios today (27th)....has my Commander name got mixed up with an Alpha backer's?

I've got the same. Probably just place holders. Or someone upgraded your account and is using it behind your back!

Those creds were meant for alpha backers. They will get reset on Friday anyway, so no worries

I'm willing to bet it's part of the update to Beta. Alpha backers started with 1000 credits and then got a 1.5 million credit windfall which if you add it up gives you the total you are seeing. This will be wiped for the start of premium Beta back to 1000 credits so don't get excited about all those credits.....

Everyone in Alpha got a cash injection of 1,500,000 credits a few days ago. Looks like beta accounts got the same. Don't get your hopes up though, it'll be wiped before you get to play with it.

When we have support for multiple commanders you will be able to have a name for each.
