I think now that we have holo-mes, there should be a profile system. Something that allows you to say where you're from, what you career is, what your linage or history is, maybe a blank for a biography.
I see commanders on these forums, in game and else where establish these wonderful back stories for themselves and I feel it would be great to include that in their profile along with the holo-me.
"Brave Intrepid commander born on a small dirt poor mining colony on Septimus Minor, makes good by be coming a rich merchant trader"
"Son of Federal Admiral, born on Earth to privilege, sent to the Academy and fought in a war with the Empire, retired from service and become a combat pilor for hire."
"Astro-Explorer discovers new element in the Pleidies Cluster and is thrust into galactic fame."
...and so on.
point is, the holo mes were the first step toward helping commanders seperate the ship from themselves by creating an identity, and I feel some kind of profile system would offer an oppertunity to further allow commanders to be able to tell their story, if even in a small profile. It would give people a sense of what they are about.
