Commander status indicators

So, I've just fired up the ED 3.0 Beyond, and Im wanting to get into doing wing missions. I see a number of fellow Commanders are on....but my initial thought was to message them to see if they're up for a winged mission. That could take a while, and though some are online, sometimes they're afk.

What I suggest is something we can set to indicate to others if we're up for winging up. This doesn't only have to apply to friends list, but it should be there too. But really, if I fly by someone out a ways , which is always awesome anyways, it'd be great if seeing their 'Up for winging' flag is up, and they see mine, then bam...the rest falls into place.

So just a thought...and maybe this could be set for other things too, but I think it'd go great with winging missions for now.

Could be kind of like multi-crew but a find a wing-mate function.

When they first introduced Multi-Crew, they had it so in the list to join ships, you would see ships available for the commanders who were looking for crew. They removed that, possibly because the numbers seemed low. But really, seeing those numbers would at least show those interested. Even if it's 0, who cares. But what of the times when there are some, but because they removed that, noone knows...you have to click 'join ship for Xeno' and hope for the best, which currently for me, results in 'no ships'. Anyways, thats an aside.

This sort of indication could be for various things, so for starters wing missions, but also CQC...combat, mining, etc. I bet there's more people wanting to do CQC, but noone likes sitting there waiting for 5 minutes to know the outcome. Then when no join, reverting to regular play.

Also, the alternative to this, at the moment, is, as I said before, messaging friends or messaging in open if people want to wing up. But, from my experience and also how the UI is laid out, text communication is not something FDev seems to want to be easy. I understand that, less spamming potential, the better as far as Im concerned. So this sort of indicator alleviates the need for texting or communication. You set your indicator, and someone seeing that requests a wing join, you receive the mission etc, do the missions, get the rewards, and done. No texting or communication neccessary. But a shared experience? Indeed! A fun experience? Most likely.
