Commanders! Issue #24 of the Sagittarius Eye Magazine is OUT NOW!

In Issue 24, we take a peek into the Rochester family, discover the mischief of the Winking Cat, see the science behind Lagrange Points, take a deep breath as we look at life on airless worlds, find out why flying straight isn’t the fastest, zoom our telescope in on the Carina Constellation, and open our eyes on a station you probably have not visited.

Finally

As detailed in this month’s Editorial, we will be moving to a quarterly release format as of this issue.
This is to give our writers and design team a little bit more breathing room — we’ve maintained a tight monthly release pattern for two years, and our volunteers are at risk of burning out.
This change will have no impact on our other two channels, video and Breaking News, and you can expect the same quality and regular releases from those.

Issue 25 to release during the fourth quarter of 3305.

In the meantime, enjoy the last remnants of summer and the beginning of fall, and stay safe when in the Witch Head Nebula.

I'm still reading through it but very impressive, as always o7.
The Winking Cat is one of those Galnet puzzles that I wonder whether or not represents something we can interact with in-game. I don't view as just a 'Galnet fluff article'. The thief takes three pieces of art that could be argued to represent the heart of the Alliance, the Empire and the Federation. Then they carry out a very specific triple heist that almost sounds like a treasure map, or a map to their location (italics are my emphasis): Self-portrait of Rembrandt with Two Circles, Picasso's Guernica and a 23rd century piece Terra Absentia. Guernica was an anti-war painting that drew attention to the Spanish Civil War in 1937. Perhaps the thief has more to say to us if we can find them... or could this even be The Dark Wheel's initiation test? To find an Earth-like World orbiting a binary pair of stars outside the influence of the three superpowers (actually there are rather a lot of those, so I'm not sure how to narrow it down)? The thief's motive seems to me to have been to send a message to everyone, rather than the material or even artistic value of the items, which are not exactly tradable. (And with their skills, they could probably have just lifted all they wanted from the Bank of Zaonce, or any other museum).

(Just saw the quarterly schedule change. Yeah, I didn't get a chance to read the latest issue yet. 😊)
