Commanders should be able to place their own tourist beacons or flags

Every commander should have the ability to leave a beacon or a personalised flag in space or on surfaces so that other commanders can see other amazing places commanders have found rather than relying on word of mouth / internet.

To prevent spam, there should be a hard limit of these objects per planetary body / system.

Thanks for all of your time and have a pleasant day.

Superb Idea!

Yikes. You'd have to be content with a hard limit per commander if they added it. Like, you get 5 personal flags you can place anywhere in the galaxy. And over time they would degrade, and you'd have to visit each flag to renew them.

I like the idea of them aging - slowly becoming more faded and tattered - giving some weight to in-game presence. Too bad we didn't have this from the start. Even showing them on heads up or maps with an age slider.

I think a fun spin on it, would be if there was only one user beacon per system. Whichever CMDR discovers that system first, gets to name the beacon (within ToS) and leave their mark, so to speak.

Encourages more exploration that way, too. Want to be able to leave 5 beacons? Discover 5 new systems. Feeling bold and think you deserve 10? Discover 10 first, show the galaxy what you've got.
