Just in case you haven't found these things out: if you accumulate a few bounties and don't claim them before someone blows you up they disappear! You also lose whatever credit you may have had and to add insult to injury suddenly your in debt. I only just found these things out myself after dropping into an unknown signal and being blown apart within a few seconds - there was just two ships! I lost over 200,000 in bounties and 800,000 in credit. Thankfully I did get my ship back. It seems to me a bit odd that you should lose unclaimed bounties and your credits. I mean it isn't like its stored in your ship - it's in the galactic bank, right? While I am on a whinge can I also say it would be a lot better if when you blow up that you have an option to eject in a escape module rather than die? I mean it makes the story a bit flaky - get reborn but still have insurance to get a new ship? The original game (commodore 64) had an ejection module. If you don't eject then you start again from the beginning, if you do eject then you have insurance and your credits and whatever. It is also annoying that not everything appears on the radar! It wil appear in the navigation panel! Love the game but these are annoying.
Hm a lot of info in this post, but I'm not sure you're right.
Yes, you lose your unclaimed bounties when you die. You could argue that "it's stored on Galnet" or any other network, but you could also say that "your ship stores the complete scan information of all the ships you killed", and that you need to bring it personnaly to the autorities so they can review it before giving you payment.
I'm really not sure what you mean in this phrase "you lose whatever credit you may have, and suddenly you're in debt". You're not supposed to lose everything when you die IF you have enough money for the insurrance of your ship.
In your situation, you lost 200k in bounties and that is normal, but the 800k in credits you lost might be your ship insurrance. OR it might be the value of your cargo, lost when your ship blew up.
When your ship is destroyed, and you don't have enough money for the insurrance, you can use up to 600k credits that are loaned to you so you can buy back your ship. You can only use this money once, and you can have a negative bank balance as a result.
"There was just 2 ships". Ok, but if those two ships are Anacondas, or Vultures, or any heavy-hitting ship, you won't last long if your ship isn't good enough.
"Thankfully I did get my ship back". So you got enough money for the insurrance (with the loaned 600K). My previous conclusions might make sense.
"eject in a escape module rather than die". It is what happens, we just don't see it. It happens magically when you get blown up. Not everything can be explained or justified, and some things are here for enjoyable gameplay only.
"not everything appears on the radar". I think you're talking about signal sources and such. I think it's ok, the radar would be a bit cluttered if everything appeared on it.
I just wanted to add a bit of clarification for future readers. That is why i'm posting this here.
However Gort55, if you want to answer me, or talk about the game, or have questions of any kind, please
