thinking of a few new loadouts for my Krait Mk II

And one quetion first, are corrosive shells effects affected by the size of the Multi Cannon?

Weapons load outs are incredibly personal, I find. My Krait runs 2 medium Impy Hammers with short range/plasma slugs and 3 large fixed beams, 2 with efficient/thermal vent and 1 efficient/healing. Thanks to FD only giving us 2 triggers, I generally only run 2 types per ship. Really wish they’d give us 3, or better yet, 4 triggers.
 
My MkII has:
3x Large Multicannons: all Overcharged: 2x auto loader, 1x corrosive​
2x Medium Beams: both Long Range: 1x thermal vent, 1x oversize​

Seems to work fine. An SLF to watch my back or help with tough shields.

I just love the dakka-dakka of the large multis, even if they take a moment to spool up.

EDIT: agree with ^^, a third trigger would be tops
 
Three large efficient beams and two medium kinetics is a very effective weapon array, the beams could be gimbals for HazRES or fixed for pirate threat zones (lots of chaff and weapon tracking experimental effects).

I've also used 5 x efficient PA's on a Python against large targets with great effect (absolute damage so they ignore resistance builds) that should work just as well on a Krait mk2.

Recently I've been using 2 x large fixed OC MCs + 1 x large efficient beam + 2 x mediums, the fighter is the beam Taipan to assist with shield removal, with the Kraits high efficiency thruster boost I run 1 pip to engines and 2.5 to weapons and systems.

Plasma is a sort of universal weapon. Absolute damage and very good piercing value. So damagewise you don't need other weapons to augment them and can use them with any weapon you prefer. I believe plasma and rails would be very PvP-style. I myself have a thing for pairing increased shot speed PAs (long range or focused) with multi-cannons, but not being efficient means I can't use many of them at the same time.

To answer your question, I believe the size of the multicannon doesn't matter for the corrosive. Most people put it on the smallest MC.
