Hi coaster friends,

As you may know, between May 15 and June 15 we hosted the first Planet Coaster video competition: Commercial Break!

The aim was to create a short commercial for one of your parks, in which you really had to sell us why to come for a visit. You’ve sent us some incredibly creative, well-edited, musical, sometimes hilarious, and original videos – we were completely blown away by the talent and quality of everyone who participated. Thank you so much for being a part of this and for all your time and effort.

Just now, during our Facebook Live session, we’ve announced the top 10, who will each get a signed poster. A massive congratulations goes to the winner, Headcrash, who created a beautiful visual vista for his Mountain Woods park, and will receive a bunch of prizes from us!

Thank you again to all who participated: you’re absolutely fantastic! We’re looking forward to the next competition (which is not far away)!

I can't believe it that I have won this competition. [big grin]
There are also other great videos and I had some others as my favorites. [wink]

I guess I should make (Planet Coaster) videos more often!

Edit: And congratulations to the other winners. [wink] [up]

Congrats man!

Having watched all the videos, I cannot imagine the pain the judges had to get to one overall winner, EVERY single video is FANTASTIC, it is simply great to be part of such a creative and artistic community, Congratulations to Hendrik on winning, I thought all 10 were Exceptional.

Well done mate, your vid is very smooth and slick... has a real professional quality about it. You deserve it.

Really like the timing and pace you have in there... choice of track, and the visuals very easy on the eyes. I'm guessing this isn't beginners luck and you are no stranger to video editing. Nice work.

To be honest, this is my first well edited Video ever. Before I just cutted three or four recorded videos together to one video.
And I found some other videos better than mine, so I still cannot believe I've won. [shocked] [big grin]

Yay! I'm still in awe I made the top 10, the videos you guys made blew me away!

I love this community, the amount of creativity is truly mind boggling and your parks were stunning! And a huge shoutout to the Frontier team for putting this contest on, it was a lot of fun! Well, to be fair, anything that gives me an excuse to pull out a hammy Australian accent is fine by me, so bonus points there too. [big grin]

Congratulations to everyone who's videos appeared in the top ten. They were all great to watch. Choosing a winner is not easy, but well done headcrash for coming first. But you were all winners by reaching the top ten. [yesnod] [up]

Well done everyone!
I'm kind of disappointed in myself for not doing one, but I just haven't really played much in the last two months.

But that's okay, got some things planned for the future.

Congrats to the winner and all the other entrants!

At just 1 second in you're already doing reasonably advanced things by masking the title. Later in the video you're using tracking. Although it's straight forward, it still takes some know-how to get masking and tracking right. Can I ask was it all done in your video editor, or did you go to After Effects? Just curious because I've been teaching myself masking in Premiere recently.

Congratulations to everyone who has sent in a video! Even if you didn't make it in the top 10, you still did a great job!

The videos in the top 10 are all amazing! I'm blown away by the fantastic art, the creations and the fun that was put into them! :D

For the video editing I use Final Cut Pro X and for the effects Motion 5 from Apple. I bought it a few months ago because iMovie is too restricted for me.
When I'm having an idea I google it on how to achieve that in Final Cut/Motion.
Before the competition video I just did some experiments with this software so it was not all new for me when I startet this video. [wink]
