Commodities aren't just for trading!

- You'll need them to craft technologies into upgrades. The rarest resources can only be found in certain types of systems.

Pleeeeease?

Bread Baking module:

Consumes Wheat to produce Bread.
Generates heat, must be managed.

Higher ranked modules produce more bread more efficiently.

Bread is required for rank missions and can be exchanged for merits.

Pretty sure crafting won't magically make the game better without an awful lot of supporting content.

If I see an enemy CMDR I'll sometimes have a canister of biowaste that I'll carry with me, drop their shields and whittle their hull down some, and tell them that unless they pick up the can of poop, I'll kill them. I stick to my word on that one... it's funny to watch people scoop up poop.

So OP you wish there to be something on a ship that can craft many things into many other things while still requiring certain items to do it. In ship advanced Assembly line.

Seems a bit imerssion breaking for me.

No thank you. I would support manufacture of stolen prototype tech at certain High tech systems thou, where I guess we could be requested to deliver the resources needed also. Stuff like FSD with 5% better efficency, lightweight power plants, military drives and so on. Just something to differentiate ships more (like the PP modules, but usable and not connected to PP).

I had written somewhere that they would have been useful in powerplay instead of our new power commodities - Example being to undermine aisling's systems you would smuggle slaves into them, or undermining as mahon would involve setting up trade embargo's on systems.

Still waiting on this "colossal" update.

I'd quite like it if we could at transfer fuel between our tank and fuel canisters in our cargo bay. That way you could carry extra, dump some canisters for friends instead of wasting a drone, and also fuel scoop and dump it into a canister and sell it in stations as the hydrogen fuel commodity.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of in-station manufacturing where you can build components (even ships) and upgrade them according to the station's tech level. Then sell them on the market to make a profit and have them be accessible to those who don't want to craft.

The close mindedness of some of the people on this forum to new ideas is absolute ridiculous by the way.
