Commodities Chart: For fun and profit!

I've put together a simple Google spreadsheet which shows which commodities are in supply or demand in the various systems in the beta. I have found it useful in planning my trading trips so I'm sharing it here in the hope that others will find it useful too. I also think it helps show the trade relationships between the different systems which, for me at least, adds to the immersion.

Any feedback on making it better is very welcome.

Please note:

• This chart will hopefully become redundant once (if?) similar info is offered in game. There's no way I'm maintaining it for 400 billion systems.
• The chart does not show the strength of demand since this is variable, based on player actions and the whims of the dev team.
• It's pretty good, but accuracy is not guaranteed. For example supply or demand may drop to 'none' at times (maybe?) and this is not accounted for in the chart.
• If Frontier introduce further systems then I will endeavour to add them if practical. I.e. if they add a couple at a time like they have done so far.

I recall reading/hearing that FD wanst to keep the information somewhat restricted, so that you have to do some legwork yourself. If that's the case, the spreadsheet that is EV.., I mean Elite will probably have to be managed by players.

I'm fine with putting some effort into trading but I'm not a paper-pusher like an accountant, in fact I hate this kind of work. Before I write that stuff down by hand I'm going for a career as pirate or bounty hunter or I'm going to write a software that uses an OCR lib to read the text from a screenshot and fill a database with the prices.

There is no way to obscure the information completely. Hide the numbers in the screenshot when its generated? Fine, I'm going to use a webcam then. You get my point? Useless effort, let FD spend their time one more important things.

I doubt FD is planning to deliberately obscure the information. I think they're just going to limit access to it. For example, you might not be able to see the entire galaxy's demand patterns, but only within the same system and adjacent ones. Price information might be even more restricted.

Yep, I'm sure they will, it will be in the solar system view, I guess.

I also hope they add the ability to request a "current prices" list from other solar systems for a price. I think I'm right in saying that they had that in Frontier.
