The description about the system in your galaxy map can give you an idea about what the system may be demanding/offering.
It's not all 100% certain though, there is some guesswork involved.
Next you also have the trade routes showing up, which kind of give you a guaranteed offer/demand for each system.
Just do a bit of research in systems and see what sort of stuff in sold/demanded in all types of economies like extraction, high tech, industrial, agricultural, etc.
I'm sure they will improve certain aspects of it still, and possibly ship upgrades for dedicated traders, who knows.

If you open the navigation map there is a trade button at the top.
Once selected click on the buttons below that add/remove various categories.

I see. Will try that. But I still think it should not relly on guess work or you memorizing. Hopefully theyll implement a system that lets you actually see the comodities at least from the stations you visit. Im doing mostly trading but because I have no way to recall what each station needs I tend to stay between 4-6 stations. And that limits exploring a bit for traders
The trade routes in the navigation window should just be what you're looking for. They display what kind of goods a system exports and where to best deliver them. I just did a few runs this way, and with just one exception I always hit maximum profit. Give it a try! You may have to do multiple jumps for some routes, but it pays off.
Also: always check the bulletin board before you sell your goods, it could be that someone offers you a premium!
