Does anyone know if there are going to be more Commodities in the finished version?

yes, that got mentioned several times in the past that there will be more, i.e. "specialized" wares like "Lavian Brandy" or something alike.
imagine you find a yet uncharted economy, and they sell an unique product: the farer you export it, the more you will get, since it gets rare with distance.
think it was stated in a newsletter...

I'm sure there will be more interesting and exotic things to purchase as the game systems open up even more.

every update I have seen there has been more commodities added and yesterday there has been a huge amount added.

So I expect there could be even more coming which should make for more varied trade.
