Common Zoo Animals Pack

The theme for this pack is "basic but essential". I tried to expand the roster with some unspectacular but very common zoo animals. Therefore I changed the formula and featured four exhibit species. Would you buy it (or something similar)? Which animals did I miss?

Habitat:

West African Pygmy Goat
Common Squirrel Monkey
(European) White Stork
Indian Crested Porcupine

Exhibit:

Corn Snake
Bearded Dragon
Hermann's Tortoise
Leopard Gecko

Of course I'd also love to get Sloths or Takins! :D

I do not find 4 exhibit animals very attractive. They do relatively less for the game to me so I prefer to make a pack with the old formula

My species would be:
Emu
Wallaby species
Coati
Sloth species
Porcupine
Dromedary
Pelican species
Chameleon or Gecko species (exhibit)

I think all of them are very common Zoo animals and further more or less popular within the community.

Throw in a raccoon, and I'm down.

Common where though? Because common for me would mean something like;
1. Kiwi.
2. Sumatran tiger.
3. Mexican spider monkey.
4. Red-necked wallaby.
5. Tuatara (exhibit).

I don't expect a pack like this to come, but I like the idea. My list would be:
  • Great White Pelican
  • Pygmy Goat
  • Mandarin Duck
  • Emu
  • Bennett's Wallaby
  • South American Coati
  • Common Squirrel Monkey

My idea for a common zoo animal pack would be a sort of 'starter zoo' pack - containing the sorts of animals a zoo may contain when it first opens, before it is able to get larger species.

1. Indian crested porcupine
2. Bar-headed goose
3. Serval
4. Bolivian squirrel monkey
5. Red-necked wallaby
6. Himalayan monal
7. Eurasian red squirrel

Exhibit. Green tree python

"Common" is such a relative term that I'd argue it borders on meaningless for a game with a diverse international audience like this. As a personal anecdote, I've probably been to far more zoos than the average American, yet becks's list is the only one where I've actually seen every species, and even then I'd hardly call some of them common for my region. I'll throw out a list of what I perceive to be the most locally common species not currently in the game, and I imagine it's going to have at least a few misses for those outside the US:
  1. North American river otter
  2. American black bear
  3. African spurred tortoise
  4. Bennett's wallaby
  5. Geoffroy's spider monkey
  6. Nigerian dwarf goat
  7. Alpaca
  8. Madagascar hissing cockroach
It wasn't my intent, but I get a strong "starter" or non-AZA zoo vibe from this list. And while they're all species I'd like to see, I can't say that this list itself would be a very appealing pack.

NA version, no exotics:

Patagonian mara
North American river otter
Bennett's wallaby
Emu
Golden lion tamarin
Sulcata tortoise
Helmeted guineafowl
Common snapping turtle (exhibit)
I started to include golden lion tamarin on mine as well, but I replaced it withy the spider monkey since they're far more common outside of AZA. I'd considered the emu as well, but didn't think about the mara or guineafowl - both good calls.

I agree, common is relative so lets go more streamlined with "classic zoo pack"
Whats a classic zoo?
The oldest zoos are from europe with the classic set also being heavily based on older european zoos, so a scenery pack expanding the classic theme sounds great to me.
For animals id just take super common animals from the EAZA, zoo classics you could say, those being the great white pelican, red necked wallaby, cotton top tamari and the indian crested porcupine.
Id say this is an unarguable usefull pack with a clear theme and functionality and while i would understand disliking the fact that its pretty european centric with its logic its imo the best way to single out one region, as it has the oldest zoos with the longest zoological history and the most zoos of any continent
