Comm's chatter: The profitable life of a trader

Are you guys kidding me? He made 53 million on legal trading, so what? That is HOW on the current stage of ED development you can only make so much money, it is the ONLY way right now. These newsletters are so naive sometimes I want to puke. Honestly FD, there is NO OTHER WAY in game right now to make good money, trading is the only way.

And you are implying in a newsletter that its some miracle that this guy made 53 million on LEGAL trading, like illegal trading is much more profitable. I tried the pirating and smuggling and canister stealing etc. There is so much hypocrisy in that article and that I just had to post this. Illegal trading is NOT more profitable than legal trading. Smuggling is stupid cheap, missions are not ready to give good reward, etc etc etc.

Are these newsletters for naive children who never played ED? Sometimes newsletters sound like you are talking about the finished game...

Thanks...

i say big deal, any one of us could have done the same but we chose to go off and do something less boring instead. why don't you let him have his five minutes of fame and carry on playing the game you want too, no point getting stressed over what's little more than marketing.

He made more cash than me. Rage when you can post a screen that beats him.

I care less how much money someone made. I care about game being balanced. I mean its not like ships/weapons/modules will cost less if you don't stick to the best way of making money. Yeah you can enjoy different Gameplay but in the end it will be all about money. Unless of course you wanna keep flying sidewinder for the rest of your life... so to speak.

I just got a little peed about article talking bull... that's it.

The Profitable Life of a Trader!
Commander Jake Skyrunner wants no part in bounty hunting or illegal transporting – all his profits come from legal trading, proving the point that if you are just a trader it is possible (with some time and effort), to get huge profits from legal trading. ...because illegal trading is not profitable at all? PR is PR. Junky PR is junky PR.

yeah, that was fun article to read in newsletter :)
i am not far behind that number but as i have other priorities for last 2-3 weeks i didn't trade at all, 53m actually is not impressive - 530m would impress me, however ;)

I am almost certain that the current rate of earning credits is not finalised. Also the pricing of ships and modules are subject to change. The rates of progression (credits wise) is not final.

After release there will be other factors to take into consideration. If you only trade in the final release then you will be missing out on faction reputation, which will be boosted through missions and tiered missions and mission chains.
