Newcomer / Intro COMMS HELP on Missions (Responding to offers)

I just took a pirate mission which was go to an area and kill 4 pirates.

I killed 3 and then was offered 15k rather than the 12k for the mission for 5 dead authority. I didn't know how to respond-- can someone help?

When i selected 1 and then went to transactions, there was a dialogue. At the bottom were two buttons-- one said 'B' and the other was blank. I selected the blank one which made the 4th pirate disappear and then i failed the mission i took. My credit balance didn't change nor did i have anything under 'contracts' at the station. Can anyone tell me what I did, and what I should have done?

Lastly, the ships in the mission didn't show as 'pirate'-- how could i tell? I just happened to shoot them down.

Hello,

you can still finish the original mission, or do the alternative one for a little more profit. (In this case though, unless you want to go a full hated pirate with bounty on your head, I dont recommend doing the alternative version!)

These alternative missions can come to every mission type, like I had one while doing cargo hauling - it told me to drop the cargo to somewhere else then intended.

Thanks Peter but when i selected that other button it failed the original and then nothing happened. I couldn't complete the original and nothing happened.

I'll guess i'll try again.

When a quest offers a choice how do you respond to the quest? I went to transactions and two buttons the next time were blank. Any help would be appreciated.
