Comms panel blocked by Thargoids

Earlier today, I was on a rescue for The Fuel Rats. We dropped on a client next to a Megaship under siege from some Thargoids.

After refueling the client, we were scanned by the Thargoids one by one. We ignored this at first, as they did not attack us, and our priority was to get the client out of the instance. However, after trying to send a message to Wing chat, the message was unsuccessful. After a few more failed messages, I decided to low wake out of the instance. Immediately after this, all my messages were sent at once, while simultaneously receiving several messages from my wing mates as well.

My other wing mates reported similar things happening to them as well. Sadly, we lost our client to the Thargoids as we were unable to contact or debrief him, despite repeated requests to jump to supercruise.

I asked the Anti-Xeno Discord if they've heard anything like this happen and was told: "Not that we know of." http://prntscr.com/m50fa

So, I'm curious, has anyone had something similar happen to them?

Did you get any message about connection to comm server failed? I have been getting them quite regular and am unable to send a message to a friend in game. So far it has had nothing to do with Thargoids, so this could be a isolated instance with them. It seems that the comms were moved to a different server if I remember correctly. But I could be wrong about that.

So it could have been a delay in the comms server or just a bugged instance. The player that was lost may be able to submit a report to frontier and get re-instated if they was going to lose a lot of exploration data. It would be good if they could investigate the incident at the very least.
