When you first open the comms panel (key 2), it immediately opens the text input for Local. The only way I've found to get out of this is to press esc.
This means that I can't automatically check recent comms (that have scrolled off) or to quickly check contacts, messages etc, without first escaping from the text input.
My suggestion is that when the comms panel is opened, that in order to enter a message, then Return should be pressed first to open the text input. This gives us the ability to quickly move through the comms panel or just to open/close the panel when checking comms, without first having to press esc, or chat a load of 2's to the local channel
