Comms volume and adjustments

I've been having this issue since I got back into E:D. Comms are just too quiet. I have my microphone boosted to 30dB and the volume as high as possible, as well as in-game, and I still can't hear wingmates properly. Is there something I can manually configure to increase the comms audio level? Or perhaps a mod to do the same? I'm debating building a mod to do it, but I'm not entirely sure of the transport methodology behind the in-game voip system. Before I go diving in, does anyone have any suggestions?

Why don't you use Discord or teamspeak? Much better IMO. Disable auto comms for wing lol (thats what me and a friend did, the in game comms had issues.)

We do use Discord, but I hate the size of the application and the sheer amount of resources it consumes. It's built on the Electron framework, too, which implies it spawns a ridiculous number of threads for what it does.

The real reason, though, is because I'm considering mentoring new players, and it's easier to use in-game comms rather than pointing them at god knows how many links at first. Messages aren't persistent, so they're too easily missed.

Well the in game comm's issues I had were, my friend sounded like he was actually talking through a radio at 50% lower volume than normal. And as I have music equipment/microphones and a webcam, and a gaming headset.. sometimes the drivers freak out and certain applications pick the wrong microphone to use. My friend said all he could hear from me in game was weird noises and bleeps lol. We use teamspeak (I have a server which you are welcome to use I can send u the details if needs be) and a discord but I don't like it much myself (i'm oldschool). Good luck either way!
