I notice in some you tube vids etc folk selecting a drop down box from the comms area in the top left of the screen.

I cant seem to enable this. I press either 2 for quick comms (nothing happens) or 5 for message which i can write in.

I play solo mode and want to communicate for certain missions.

What am i doing wrong lol

Excuse me Marsha, what should you "communicate" to npcs?

Pressing 2 opens the comm panel only if there is one or more real Commanders around you, or online friends.
Ergo, i think that's why it doesn't open in solo.

Ok cheers. Id heard Npcs gave information on certain targets in assassination missions. I thought i had to engage in comms to find out further info.

Heheh, nope the few interactions you have with npcs are unfortunately completely automated :)

(I won't say more because i could spoiler something)

You shouldn't play solo, come aboard on the open! We have escorts! ;)
