The community calendar idea is a nice touch. Though i wish they would implement these things inside the game instead of relying on external tools and websites to implement functionality that should exist within the game.
allowing users to pick these events as if they were missions - potentially even leveraging the mission system to further implement the event in a more cohesive way with the actual game (tracking participation, making some rules and creating rewards etc).
Why is community based content such as this not a priority in the game? Why does it seem like either the development direction resists community based content or simply relies on out-of-game resources rather than implementing in-game, something that they recognize as beneficial to the game?
If we're meant to have to browse the web or run stuff on a second screen (or alt tab out of the game) all the time then why not just implement a HUD that exposes an embedded "secondary" desktop screen? In that hud we could launch our computer's apps / browsers and interact as if we had alt-tabbed out but still be in the game at least.
It's just frustrating to see so much effort put into getting characters to sit down on seats for absolutely no purpose or a lot of work around assets most players will never have but a UI page in-game to coordinate community created events and share them to drive gameplay independent of the extremely slow and mostly inconsequential narrative isn't a priority because it's going to be put on a webpage or was never even considered by the dev team and management. I dont get it. You implement it once and the community creates free content for the game. Isn't lowering dev costs while creating reasons to play the goal here? Why is this game so reluctant to embrace community created content?
