Community Challenge ended too soon- goal set too low?

Today I logged in after my day was done to start the Community Challenge, which began about 5 hours ago. To my extreme dismay, it was already finished. This is SO disappointing. The CCs are my favorite part of the game and to not get to participate in even a small way is frustrating. The last challenge also ended very quickly.

For almost 9 months now, we've been missing the counts that we used to have of how many animals were required to meet each challenge (see this thread.) This was never fixed despite several promises that it would be. So there's no way to know if this challenge just was set absurdly low or whether people are somehow gaming the system.

Can this please be addressed?

Consider this...
I was not actively participating but after one session I was already to the 5th award and reached the seventh.
So too easy? To general? too many species in the allowed species? Or perhaps all of the above?

Even though I don't really participate, I would agree. - I often see this to be the case with games that have this, such as say "AC: Valhalla" as well (although I think they've turned up the numbers there over time as well). - But almost every time I see a challenge when I start up 'Planet Zoo', it seems to be (almost) fulfilled.

It only seems logical to me that they'd know how much would be a challenge and set it accordingly. - Just set it high(er). Can't call it a challenge if it's so easily reached.

Ive noticed that sometimes when goals aren't being reached they put an easy one out. I haven't paid attention to them in a while though

Here's another idea, which I don't know if it's already the case for this game: They could put out multiple community-challenges.
Or, along with the main community one, have some personal challenges on the side.

I agree that the calibration sometimes seems off. Some are so hard that we never each them, and some speed by on the first day.

Just a note for anyone who doesn't know, you can still get conservation credit points as you go and animal rewards at the end, even if you "participate" after the community has gone above 100% of the communal goal (but still within the advertised week).

I realize that for some folks that may not have the same "feel" as feeling like you're contributing in real time to a communal event. But I like that we can still play the challenge as a personal challenge, even if we aren't able to get onto our computers until later in the week.

heh - a few months ago everyone was complaining that the community challenges were too hard and no one could complete them.

I don't think Frontier is putting particular thought into their challenges any more: the DLC challenges are all timed, and pretty much identical, and the community challenges are not exactly thrilling, generally.
