Community/Forum problems

So i bought this game a few days before it came out and i think have had my moneys worth but its just weird how much little interaction the FDevs are having with the community i mean look at star citizen no body is worried about them the devs are listening to the community making changes that the community likes because they are listening to them and taking notes. The FDevs however are another story only a few times they have told us what's happening but from the rest of that were just guessing like offline mode was promised in the kick starter but now they are saying were not getting it... but they have not told us what is happening or when it is happening they are not giving us any updates what so ever and yes it may be the Christmas holidays but still they should at least have a few people over telling us what's happening. and the support team? don't get me started they are quite terrible my brother bought the game the same day i did but he did not get it but i did so he posted a ticket and he still has not gotten a reply that's pretty bad if you ask me. Now i might be pushing it here but the moderators as well you handle the forums like were all kids! if someone starts to get a slight argument of what's about what should and should not be done your like sorry locked this thread. at the moment there is not even any big groups forming because the forum is not being handled properly. I've talked to several people about this and they have all agreed. talk to a guy called ShadowGar https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=77604&p=1382172#post1382172 we are trying to get a group together up so we as a community can work together and help improve the game finding all these bugs and help the devs. we also have a team speak ask ShadowGar about it. If we all can get together and start some groups we can turn this game in to something amazing!

Feel free to talk this post might be taken down by the mods but if you click the link youl be taken to the place where ShadowGar is trying to setup the community.

Don't worry, they are here :)

I take it you were not there before, during Alpha/beta phases, or if you were, maybe you have not read through the looooooooooooooooong and detailed lists of changes/tweaks in patches after patches during development. They may not be reacting in every post out there, but that does not mean they're not here. And they are pretty communicative, in fact.

Also, the game has just been released, so after so many stressful, exhausting months, maybe they allow themselves to get some pressure off. It does not help that most comments we've seen lately were mostly negatives about details, while not so much good things were said about the overall achievement and stellar quality of the game. I know it can be a letdown.

I myself never got an answer to a ticket. But I always saw the problem solved in the next patch. That's what matter I think :)

hm.. i see your point somewhat

Dev presence on the forums has shrunk for the holidays (they do have family you know!) but they are here.

Another factor is the the forums are now full or requests and rants the most of us here (and certainly the devs) have heard many MANY times before, questioning gameplay mechanics the have been discussed and agreed upon by the community hundreds of times before.

If you take a look at some of the old threads you can find the devs there and I'm sure there will be a resurgence in the new year! :)

I'm a StarCitizen backer as well, visit their forums weekly. Your assertions about their developers listening is a lie. As a matter of fact, StarCitizen is a victim of scope creep, a combat flight model that's "click to kill", and an out of touch development team. When are they going to stop making digital brochures to sell ships that don't exist?

And something else you need to take onboard. Although FD listen to feedback, and believe me, they DO listen, they are not making a game for US. They have said and keep on saying that they are making the game THEY want to make. So even though the community may scream the roof down for 'something', if that 'something' does not fit into the DB/FD vision of what they want ED to be then that 'something' isn't getting in.

I have to say I disagree. Having been around since premium beta I see more actual interaction by the development team on this forum vs. any other developer and - perhaps more importantly - clear evidence in adjusted game features/mechanics based on user feedback.

If you've only just recently joined - which I suspect you have - then bear in mind that it's Christmas, and the whole team isn't glued to the forum right now. Frontier is doing brilliantly by my standards, but I just hope they don't listen too much to the new(ish) crowd that's asking for general simplification and easier play.

The only thing i have to say, is that there ae so many bugs in the game its not funny. But they will be fixed over time, even eve online has issues , but theres a small dev team and they have to focus on theb iggest and work down.

That said frontie should hire more devs which they are working on, holidays are upon us, more patches next year from jan 5 probably. When they do become active they should get to work, but for now youve gt another week on 1.03.

I've had to remove a few posts attacking Star Citizen and Chris Roberts. This is not the place for that, in fact, these are not the forums for that.

If you want to discuss the GAME Star Citizen then you need to head this way -> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=57576

If you want to discuss the OP's proposal, then this thread is the place to be.
