Community Goal: Core Dynamics Recall and Improvement Initiative.

Pilots’ Federation ALERT

A Recall Campaign in the Sol system will help improve Federal ships to modern standards.

CEO Owen McKenna delivered this public address:

“The Core Dynamics line of Federal starships has been the unbreakable backbone of the Federal Navy for over a century, but recent advances in materials science, especially the discovery of 'Meta Alloys', call for broad improvements to our shipbuilding technologies.”

“To isolate key locations where structural improvements will do the most good, we are asking for all pilots to deliver Core Dynamics Composites from ships destroyed in combat, so we can isolate where damage results in critical loss of ship integrity. We are also paying a premium for the return of non-combat-related composites; however, they will only contribute 1/50th as much towards progression towards our goal.”

Sources within Core Dynamics, who wished to remain anonymous, have indicated this initiative is in response to the recent release Krait Mk II and Phantom, both of which have seized an unexpected portion of market share. According to an internal study of ship sales and ownership, only 1200 pilots had declared the Federal Assault Ship their primary vessel, and a dismal 200 said the same of the Federal Dropship and Gunship; by contrast, 3300 named the Krait Phantom their primary vessel, and an incredible 5500 for the Krait Mk2. Further market share has also been lost to the Lakon line of vessels, which have also consistently outperformed Core Dynamics in sales, with 1200 declaring the Chieftain their primary vessel.

Core Dynamics Composites must be sourced from a ship with a recently recorded destruction. High Grade Signal Sources do not qualify, nor do composites acquired via materials traders.

For each tier reached, an additional ship of the Federal Line will be improved.

Tier 1: Federal Dropship will receive +20 Armor Hardness.
Tier 2: Federal Gunship will receive +10 Armor Hardness.
Tier 3: Federal Assault Ship will receive +5 Armor Hardness.
Tier 4: Federal Corvette will receive +3 Armor Hardness.

For the duration of the community goal, all Pilots Federation Members will be issued a temporary Sol permit. Those in the top 75% will receive a permanent Sol permit, as well as a special Core Dynamics decal.

Additionally, those in the top 50% will receive a 1-week 50% discount on the Federal Assault Ship, as well as a special Assault Ship Core Dynamics Paintjob.
Those in the top 25% will receive a 50% discount on the Federal Dropship and Federal Gunship, with matching paintjobs.
Those in the top 10% will receive a 50% discount on all Federal Ships, with matching paintjobs.
Those in the top 10 will receive a free Federal Corvette, accompanying paintjob, decal, Sol Permit, temporariy discounts, and a permanent 10% discount on all Core Dynamics vessels.

Seats are probably the most-needed upgrade.

The Gunship should be a 3-seater (it's capable of launching two SLF's, but there aren't enough seats).

The Dropship is supposed to be for landing troops, so it should be a 4-seater, like the Crusader in Odyssey (now the only Medium ship that can land a team of 4).
