Well aye it wouldn't have to be just pirating types putting into it. Perhaps legal goods could also be used to build it but at regular prices...only thing is there might be some pirates in the system to take them off you.
Obviously this would be a smaller undertaking as compared to the lembo project but also because it's a smaller demographic that would take part in it. I think pirates might take to the idea of getting more money for their ill gotten goods than the standard 50% currently given. Perhaps on completion a pay out of 80% of market standard would be fair.
line of what? party dust? ok now seriously this would be epic, but then again I could see it with full in game piracy mechanics, where a pirate would need to build up piracy rep as proposed in DDA in order to obtain permit for landing, access to market, missions and other fun stuff.
there are already RPing pirates, no really there are dont have anything against kill everything kind of people if they find it fun, what i dont like is how easy one can clear wanted status and go on without any consequence.
Nice to see some familiar pirate faces speaking up in here. I really do think that as a community goal the pirate community would be well into this as long as the way to build towards it was stolen items only. It would attract bounty hunters also.
Like Ciger says though it really would be brilliant if the piracy role as a whole got some work. Sure make us into social pariahs in civilised space but give us the means to make more from our takings. Whether they be from players or NPC.
