COMMUNITY GOALS - RESCUE OPERATION: Why isn't rescuing people helpful?

I'm a recent newcomer to ED and having lots of fun. I'm currently midway through becoming a great passenger pilot and got excited when I saw I could potentially help out in the war effort by helping rescue people from the burning stations by taking on passenger missions. Whilst the money was pretty good I was dismayed to see that it didn't count towards the currently active community goal of RESCUING people!

All the infrastructure and support is there for passenger liner pilots to participate - The missions are even called 'rescue move' passenger missions. Yet we feel like we're not helping the rest of the players as it doesn't count towards the goal. Could we please get this fixed in future community goal events?

I think this isn't broker per se, as the rescue operation is for the life pods in space.

So it has a different objective to picking up refugees from the stations, hence why station rescues don't count to the CG.

t is helpful, just not for the CG. If you do the ones for the missions for the Federation, Empire, or Alliance, you get rank progress. Ranking up gives you access to certain ships and systems at certain ranks. I grab pods and such, dock for passengers, drop them off then tae the pods to the CG station.
