Prolly means UI/game elements in other languages. ATM, I think ED is available in about a dozen or so.What are "localizations"?
Would it be possible for Frontier to allow community to create localizations of the game, like CiG did with Star Citizen? There was bunch of promised localizations years ago, but most of them did not arrive. Why not give power to the people?![]()
I am sure there are more players that do not want to see profanity, swearing, politics etc in the game. Then the few players that would take it to CoD/GTA levelSigh. Just make it PEGI 18 and ESRB M. Let's be honest with ourselves here... Elite Dangerous is not heavily catered towards the younger crowd in taste, and they are exposed to far worse in much more popular franchises like CoD or GTA.
And this isn't about turning Elite into CoD or GTA. It's up to FDev's discretion over what to put into the game, and that doesn't necessarily mean fouling up the content. A higher age-rating simply means opening up possibilities on what could be implemented instead of knee-capping the game. There is a separate thread that brings up the potential of non-lethal attacks being excised from the game due to the possibility of emergent behavior like players shooting an NPC after they are rendered unconscious. Yet the conundrum exists that you can certainly murder anyone in cold blood, whether on-foot or in space. The lower age rating essentially constricts the available content into a non-sensical box. See the blathering over "gambling" in Balatro.I am sure there are more players that do not want to see profanity, swearing, politics etc in the game. This is not about the children
