Having been told that this is a wonderful, helpful community, can we come up with realistic ways to improve the game. I am not talking about new content, or major work here but one of the most prevalent complaints is that the game is boring, there is nothing to do, it is all a grind. Well can we do something about that and to my aged mind, the simplest way would be to improve the missions. Trying to change the BGS is too big a task but if we can improve what we, as players, tend to do day in and day out then we could get some fun back in the game.
From what I have seen, missions fall into one of the following categories:
Some of these players will reject because they don't want to do something illegal, or it doesn't fit their personal paradigm, which is fine but it often leaves little left. Here are a couple of suggestions from me to start the ball rolling:
Find someone: The mission description is requiring you to locate (not kill) someone. The payment is not set but dependent on the distance travelled (or the systems visited) and has a relatively short time span. You are given the information that the person you seek is in a neighbouring system, last seen at Station 'X'. So you head to Station 'X' only to be told that yes, Commander Blogs was seen here but last reported heading to Station 'A' in System 123. So you head there and start scanning USS's only to get a message that yes he was here, but is now in Station DD in System whatever. The length of the search is dependent on the rank and reward, higher the rank or reward, more systems and stations you have to check. Once you locate the missing Commander (you will get a confirmation message) you can return to your starting station to collect the reward.
Roadside assistance: Mission description is the Cruiseliner 'We are Number 1' has run out of fuel 'somewhere' in the xx system, please location the liner and deliver x amount of fuel limpets.
Search and Rescue: Mission description is simple: Something has crashed and there are 'x' amount of time to safely rescue 'x' number of lifepods.
Please keep your suggestions realistic, i.e. within the current capabilities of the game.

- Haul something (or someone) either from your station or to your station
- Steal something
- Give something
