I’m writing on behalf of a fellow Commander and the minor faction we support within Elite Dangerous, to inquire about the status of a past proposal and event chain that was discussed between my friend — Commander Warhavic — and Frontier Development.
The proposal in question concerned the introduction of a player-created minor faction called the Star Dragons, based in LHS 28, and tied to a unique alien species concept.
To summarize the lore behind this faction, the Star Dragons were envisioned as an anthromorphic dragon-like species, somewhat akin to the Argonians of Elder Scrolls fame. Their story painted them as survivors of brutal Thargoid persecution, hunted to near extinction. Fleeing through the stars, they first encountered the Federation, who sought to eradicate them, then the Empire, who ultimately enslaved a majority of those who remained. Eventually, they found tenuous sanctuary with Li Yong-Rui and Sirius Corporation, who offered them protection and a place to settle in LHS 28.
We understand this concept and event chain were discussed some time ago, but communication seems to have been lost along the way. We would like to respectfully ask if there is any record of this proposal still within your archives, and if so, whether there is any potential for its revival or further development.
Our goal is to honor the creativity and passion that went into this story, and to explore whether it could still find a home in the evolving narrative of Elite Dangerous. If there are steps we could take to formally resubmit or update the proposal to align with current processes, we would be more than willing to do so.
