Community voices for traffic control

I love the traffic control voices that were added in 2.1 (it was 2.1 wasn't it, so long ago LOL). But there is a lack of variety. It got me thinking, how could FDev get more variety easily? I mean it would be great if there was different voices at the same station at different times of day etc. the bored night operator could be a thing lol

Could they use the help of the community to provide additional voices? Home recording has moved on so much and the quality is improved greatly. Take a look at Obsidian Ant or Ghost Giraffe on YouTube (I assume that they record at home and not some studio). FDev could have a sample script that needs to be completed and sent in to check for voice and audio quality, then there could be a basic script that allows for some improvisation to give variety as well. Given that the audio is filtered with 'radio noise' the quality wouldn't necessarily need to be studio level just 'pretty good' and my cheap microphone does well (hint hint FDev [haha])

I know there are other things going on, and this is defiantly in the 'nice to have but not essential' box. Just thought it could be a nice way for some players to have their moment in the spotlight in the game, while adding much more (needed?) variety to it in a small but (IMHumbleO) interesting way.

Given the universal acclaim given to this feature (when does that EVER happen), I am a little surprised that they have not run with it and added a lot more fc voices and expanded it to all the other places that npcs 'speak'.
You never know though, it might all be in the pipeline and be a nice surprise

+9000 I would give my left thumb to be able to send in a few lines for the air traffic control voices or the background voices (Don't need my left one, it's the right thumb that hits my secondary attack on my joystick ;))... I think it would not only make players very happy, but also add to the game in a way that doesn't require FD to dish out alot of money to many different voice actors/actresses...

Professional voice recording isn't as easy as you may think, and given the general high audio quality of the game I doubt they would be happy with everything. They got some high standards there :D

Yeah true. That's why I think there should be a vetting process to begin with. I once done a voice for a medical device to give prompts for how to use it. Unfortunately while I got to near the end for selection it went to another. It was a great experience though if a little tedious at times going over and over again lol
