Horizons Compact Composites -- Do they exist??

Alright. After 20 ENCODED EMISSIONS USS I have CONFIGURABLE COMPONENTS a RARE running out my ears and not one bit COMPACT COMPOSITES a COMMON.
I think it is safe to say that it will never be there.

Maybe Degraded Emissions? Or Combat Aftermath?

Also, try different combinations of system states, economy & government.

I have done over 40 DEGRADED EMISSIONS search and not found them either.

I have only ever found 1 COMBAT AFTERMATH and it didn't have any either.

Not sure what else to try.. It is supposed to be VERY COMMON, therefore placing it is some obscure combination of system/government type would make it a RARE or VERY RARE yet I have found CONFIGURABLE COMPONENTS a RARE in all kinds of systems.

As with the FILAMENT COMPOSITES, also needed for CHAFF RELOAD, I have come to the conclusion that the DEVS have dropped the ball. They put CHAFF RELOAD SYNTHESIS in the game but haven't put the materials in the game.

Inara says:
Component found in ships: frequently used by military and authority vessels. Known to be salvaged from signal sources.
So, your best bet might be a Conflict Zone (you need to shoot some ships).

I've taken down a number of ships in RES 0 & 1, USS Threat 1 and 2, and doing pirate scum eliminations, but have yet to find either of these items in any of the debris, which I scan for just such rarities. I tend to agree that there is something odd that a Common and a Very Common material is so unusually scarce. I have found many XXX Composites in the floating junk, but never these two. I can't see as how Conflict Zones would sport a different population of residues, but it's worth a try, I guess.

I have seen a lot of DISTRESS SIGNALS but I have never dropped out to check them out. Is there stuff floating around in them? If you mind your own business will you get attacked?

What will you use the Compact Composites for?

COMPACT COMPOSITES and Filament Composites are needed for the synthesis of basic CHAFF RELOADS.

A strange thing happened when I made my 30th kill. All of a sudden every punk that attempts to interdict me is an expert in either a Federal Drop Ship, a Federal Gunship, or something else with a gimbaled large cannon. So, Chaff has become a necessity. But, the Chaff Launcher only has 10 rounds and each round only lasts 10 seconds.

Ah, didn't know that. Then again, I don't use chaff's.

You'll meet stronger foes when your rank increases or you go to a larger ship.

I’ve not run that synthesis before but going off the INARA description above it sounds like they may be in the same bracket as thermic alloys. I’d try a CZ...

I’ve run countless material runs from many locations and never seen them. I don’t do CZ’s though...

It is odd that so far over my career I have collected three types of "Composites" materials, rarity 3, 4, and 5 (normal to very rare), and have collected my limit or close to it on all three of these, yet for the Common and Very Common "Composites," I have seen none at all. This kind of contradicts their rarity rating.

Ok, I have now raided something over 40 POI's and not found any of these. Giving up and going to start looking for them and Polymer Capacitors in USS (Convoy Dispersal Patterns).
