Discussion Companion API works for PS4/XBO?

I suspect my search-fu may be failing me, but I can't seem to find any information about the Companion API working (or not) with PS4 or XBO commanders.

Is the Companion API only available for PC commanders?

Sadly, the companion API does not support console players at this time. I have gathered from chatting with some of the community developers that it has been raised with Frontier, but there are significant hurdles in the way to make it happen. Never say never though.

There used to be an iOS companion application for the game, which (as far as I know) doesn't exist on the store and isn't updated anymore.

To serve the application there is a so-called "Companion API". Enterprising third party developers reverse engineered the API and used it for various tools that are out there. Over time, FDEV gave their official support of the API for use by third party developers.

The API can only access information related to PC players (and Mac players, I presume); console information is locked away somewhere beyond us.
