Love the game, but have been realizing how nice it would be to have a companion mobile app to manage stored modules, ships, and even commander transport.
For example, after work my friends want to go bounty hunting, but my ship is currently in station X and equipped for cargo runs. So when I get home I have to log in, fly to where my fighter is, possibly transfer some modules from storage, etc, then fly to where we are meeting up. This can easily take an hour or more.
Alternatively, I could open up my Elite Dangerous Companion App on my phone and start the transfer of my ship and modules to my current location so when I get home and log in, everything is there. I could even "book passage" for my commander and have them (and my ship) transported to some other station.
There will be some logistics to work out, of course.
If I log into the game while my commander is being transported, for example, they could simply be automatically deposited at the nearest station with my ship.
Obviously, if my commander is not in a station, then personal transport isn't possible, but I could still have modules shipped to a station near my location.
I've run into this situation a few times. I'm out doing something and a friend or my son want to get together and do some wing missions or just hang out in the same area.
