Comparison of engineered fighters?

Hi all,

so far, we had Coriolis and similar sites to see and compare ships. With Engineers, this has become difficult. With the recent(?) issue of using Adders as combat ships, this may also have become rather interesting.

So: is there any place/thread where I can see the performance data of the small ships (Sidey, (i)Eagle, iCourier, Adder, Viper) with enhanced thrusters and possibly after engineering the heck out of them?

ISTR that people have been boasting about iCouriers boosting at >600 m/s. Looking at the raw data, a speed optimized Sidey or Adder might get into a similar territory (similar ratios of thruster optimal mass to ship mass) - but is there any place where I could actually compare the data? Or will I have to set up one ship of each type and try it on my own (some time end of 3003, the way my current exploration trip is going :)).

Basically, I would like to see the smallest, fastest, nastiest beast with a long range. Take a Sidey with enhanced drives and e.g. twin missile launchers, shieldless exploration layout (low weight bulkheads, scoop, afmu, scanners), everything A-rated and engineered to level 5.

Sidey because
a) I can
b) paintjobs and ship kit

this is the thread you need: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...plained-in-one-simple-table-(Rating-and-Mass)

use the link for base speeds in there, the handy graph for speed increase with enhanced performance thrusters (140% max at 70T for class 3 enhanced performance thrusters), and put on top of that speed 29% for the best dirty drive L5 roll.

or, to keep it simple:

[base boost speed] * 1.4 * 1.29 = [base boost speed ] * 1,806 = new maximum boost speed.

As far as the nastiest fast fighters go, IMO the iCourrier wins.

It comes down to its very low hull mass and very high shields, even with D rated while having a good "base" speed. Some ships are lighter (hauler, sidey) but slower and other faster but heavier (viper, iEagle)
Also, it has 4 utility mounts, which allows to raise the effective shielding a lot with 0E res boosters, while still packing chaff and/or heat sinks and 3 C2 hardpoints pack quite a punch.

Neat trick : you can use a grade 4/5 engineered 3D FSD to gain weight (ant retain ~20lyr) and use a 2 or 4 ton fuel tank. Add in 3D shields, distro and lightweight moded weapons and you get a combat worthy ship with
a boost speed of 650-675 m/s.

My armed explorer variant gets 615 m/s with an SRV, weapons and A3 moded FSD (8 tons, 31lyr range).

Thumb rule is (with enhanced thrusters, dirty rank 5) 1t = 5m/s
