Right now there isn't really the luxury of choice, you take what you can find in your price range. If supply issues get fixed and you don't care about ray tracing or DLSS then go for AMD. But Nvidia is so far ahead on those fronts that it's hard to overstate their advantage there. Drivers are usually pretty rough on AMD cards out the gate too, which is usually why you hear the phrase "fine wine" when it comes to AMD GPUs. Not because their cards age better but because their drivers get fixed. I haven't heard many complaints about the 6000 series drivers though, maybe there isn't enough out there.

From what I understand, the only code refreshes that are being done are the ones that make Odyssey possible.
