Complaints about how much Elite Dangerous \ Horizons costs

It's actually a very good value. You can spend $60.00 and get unlimited playing time, or play Magic the Gathering, where a single card can cost up to $20,000:

Everything is relative.

(FYI I also play MtG, but I don't buy insanely expensive cards like Black Lotus).

Do not get me started on MtG and cost. I started very early when some cards were much more expensive than they are now (I even had to get some imported because they were so rare) and then Wizards of the coast reprinted pretty much all of them in an effort to bring the prices down to make the game "fairer". Like many my large and expensive collection became pretty much worthless overnight. My local group of official Arena players all quit at pretty much the same time because of that.

You think the Black lotus is expensive? At least you get to keep it unlike the Blacker Lotus which you actually had to tear up when used in official matches. I wonder why these are rare ;)

The price seems fair however I do think they should have given away some bobble heads and paint decals for free if you had bought horizons. The Christmas tree should have been a freebie.

I looked at his reviews and he seems very thorough and honest. He'll actually spend a lot of time playing a game rather than just give them an obligatory 10/10 based on hype. He seems to be spot on for the most part, bar some subjective differences.

He is also a known troll and seems to review things in hope for viewers rather than factuall reviewing or talking about games in general, he has no skill in testing a game and seems to deem half an hour is appropriate for testing a game... Just look at his other videos and you'll understand fast enough ;)

;) Hmmm...lets see now.....44,000 people have watched his vid on Elite Horizons.....that's a good catch of viewers..........and out of them, lets look at the votes in favour of his "troll" review.......can you explain why 85% are in favour of his review?
.
;)

Excellent. Another thread where I can let everyone know, again, that I, too, invested in PB and have been a cheery chappie ever since.

And yes OP, the pricing structure FD has adopted makes ED good value for money for those who will buy each season separately. But I would advise, depending on budget of course, to invest/risk purchasing an LXP if FD choose to release it come Season 3. :)

What is the road map for horizons?

The only things I've heard that are upcoming are multiple crew for 2.5 and more srv types.
Apparently atmosphere planets won't be in this season but the next?

My problem is that there is a lack of content, I bought horizons because I was getting bored with what space offered and was hoping planet side would open some different avenues of cash, and what we got just doesn't produce anywhere near the cash I could get from space - and the content isn't that fun either...

This should be of help:

Planetary Landings
Players will be able to land on rocky planets with no atmosphere while other planet-types have been announced to follow after the release. Some planets will no longer be entirely spherical as they will be changed to "potato-shaped" planets.

The landings will be seamless and the planets can be explored using a ground vehicle. Once on the surface, players will be able to discover constructed, as well as natural, points of interest, which can be military bases, research establishments, hideouts, starports, mining complexes, crashed ships and debris to investigate. The nature of the encounter will vary depending on where you are, the type of planet and the local topography and geology.

Multi-Crew
Elite Dangerous: Horizons will add the ability to operate one ship with multiple players.

Ship-launched Fighters
Large ships will be able to carry and launch small fighters which can be controlled by another player or by the AI.

Commander Creator
The Commander Creator will allow players to create a custom face for their characters.

Loot & Crafting System
Players will be able to find loot and craft unique equipment, using a process called synthesis. SRV Fuel, Ammunition Boosters, Frame Shift Drive Boosters and SRV Repairs can be made with different quality levels with certain improvements. This is just the start of the crafting system, and will be expanded upon further as Season 2 progresses.

Changes to Mission System
The mission system will see some updates, changing the military missions and naval rank-up system and introducing powerplay missions as well as chained missions.
