Complete Cytoscrambler redesign necessary

I'm not sure what the deal is with the current one, but it is useless to pirates and probably just useless. See the other threads. Here is my redesign:

1) Fixed beam laser in C1, C2, C3 sizes.

2) Does 50% more damage to shields but nothing to hull.

3) Is purple.

There, fixed it for you. You can thank me later.
 
In some alternate universe Frontier actually heard and implemented your suggestion. But it got nerfed soon after.
 
The problem is then it shows the module weaknesses, as hull boosters and armour do nothing.

Once the shield goes, it's time to leave.
 
Perhaps it can be really useful in cooperative play.

Like wing of a couple of cytoscrambler eagles buzzing around chainsawing the shield, before a Fer de Lance or two delivers alpha strikes to hull and powerplant :p

Ermmmm no thank you. Learn the modules strengths and weaknesses and adapt. Don't cry and demand a buff if it's not an insta-shield-stripper.

This would be true and a good idea if a) eagles were fast enough, b) it didn't eat power percentage, c) didn't use a lot of capacitor, d) had a better range than practically touching and e) wasn't worse than a beam laser of the same size at distances of >100metres. This isn't hyperbole. The Code did tests.

The module's only strength is that it is a pretty colour.

It is short range when pirates need long range
It uses more capacitor and more module power but does less shield damage than an equal sized beam laser except at ranges of under 100m.
It's only effective against big ships, but only comes in C1 size
It makes no noise and so fails to intimidate

it's hard to tell without trying it actually, but i would say there should be NO small weapons as they are useless in 99.99% cases and frontier just wasted their and our time with loads of small crap.

my initial idea was that cytoscrambler will be medium fixed burst with the damage of large burst against shields and similar mass/power requirements as large, like large burst in medium hardpoint but only against shields, but instead it turned to be out crap on stick ;)
