I'm curious if anyone else is seeing this issue or if my mind is playing tricks on me.
Twice in the last two weeks I completed a batch of Ground Missions (usually take 3-8 at a time); it was a varied mix of Salvage, Operations, Procurement, and Combat missions. Both times, I had either completed half or all of the missions (but none turned in yet) when an Assassin would spawn and come after me. In every case they would say something like "You've messed with the wrong people. They hired a killer like me to take you out." In both cases, I never saw this update linked to any of the missions in the Transactions window.
In both cases, this bogey was listed as a "Mission Target." In both cases, I let them interdict me and blew them away with no issue. I then got an updated message in the Comms Window congratulating me on taking out the target and having a check box below it. When I clicked on the check box, the message disappeared. More importantly, one of my completed missions disappeared from my Transaction tab, robbing me of the ability to turn it in and make money.
Now I've only fallen for this trap twice. However, I've had at least six other occasions where these guys spawn. I will NOT engage (fight interdiction/run away), even though I want to stomp them out of existence, because I don't want to risk losing one of my completed missions.
Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, do you know which missions are the ones spawning these guys? I wouldn't mind risk losing a mission to document this for a bug report IF I knew ahead of time which completed mission it was going to blot out of existence, but there is no indication of which mission is triggering this lethal response. I actually like the complication, I just don't like losing my completed mission.
So has anyone else seen this bug? If you have, do you know if it is safe to kill the target as long as you never accept the Comm update?
Thought I'd check to see if anyone else is having this before I sacrifice my missions for the glory of the bug tracker....
